Peningkatan Kompetensi Pengajar BIPA Dalam Konteks Akademik Global: Strategi Dan Model Pengembangan Profesional
Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas perkembangan profesionalisme pengajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) seiring meningkatnya minat global terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Peningkatan signifikan program BIPA di berbagai belahan dunia telah menimbulkan kesenjangan antara tingginya permintaan dan keterbatasan jumlah pengajar BIPA yang berkualitas. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method yang menggabungkan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pengembangan profesional, menganalisis efektivitas berbagai model pengembangan, serta merumuskan kerangka evaluasi yang komprehensif untuk program pengembangan profesional pengajar BIPA. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan adanya perbedaan mencolok dalam kualifikasi akademik dan pengalaman mengajar di antara para pengajar BIPA, yang berasal dari berbagai disiplin ilmu dan jenjang pendidikan, mulai dari S1 hingga S3. Hambatan utama yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan sumber daya untuk pengembangan profesional, perbedaan standar kompetensi antar lembaga, serta ketiadaan lembaga profesional yang kredibel untuk akreditasi dan sertifikasi. Model pengembangan profesional yang ideal mencakup pelatihan berkelanjutan dengan sistem bertingkat, kerja sama antar lembaga, dan pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran. Namun, penerapan model tersebut masih dihadapkan pada tantangan berupa resistensi terhadap perubahan budaya akademik dan kesenjangan kemampuan digital di kalangan pengajar. Dengan demikian, penguatan kerangka pengembangan profesional secara sistematis sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan mutu dan daya saing pengajar BIPA di tingkat global.
