Inovasi Strategi Pembelajaran Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Indonesia Bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) Berbasis Digital Menggunakan Media Si Gale-Gale

Abstract


This study aims to explore the innovation of learning strategies for speaking skills in Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) based on digital using Si Gale-Gale media. In the era of globalization and digitalization, learning Indonesian as a foreign language requires an innovative and interesting approach to improve the effectiveness of learning, especially in the aspect of speaking skills. Si Gale-Gale, as a traditional puppet from North Sumatra that is rich in philosophical and historical values, is transformed into a digital-based interactive learning media. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the integration of Si Gale-Gale culture in BIPA learning. Data were obtained through interviews with BIPA students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra. The results showed that the use of digital-based Si Gale-Gale media was effective in increasing interest in learning, improving pronunciation and intonation skills, increasing self-confidence in speaking, and developing storytelling and presentation skills of BIPA students. This media provides automatic correction features, direct feedback, and repeated practice opportunities that help learners overcome psychological barriers in speaking Indonesian. The integration of local culture in digital learning not only increases the effectiveness of learning but also introduces the richness of Indonesian culture to foreign speakers. This research contributes to the development of innovative BIPA learning strategies by combining digital technology and local cultural wisdom.
