Utilization of Nodes in Strengthening the Social Capital Capacity of Coastal Communities in Sibolga City and Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province

Abstract


Social capital capacity is a reliable lubricant in organizing and structuring communities, which is functional for the quality of relationships among stakeholders. Social networking, as a component of social capital supported by the level of trust, can serve to reduce the destruction of coastal ecosystems through the role of intensively focused nodes committed to conservation movements. These nodes hold central positions as connectors interacting with stakeholders and shareholders in coastal ecosystem preservation, particularly in the protection of mangrove forests and coral reefs in the coastal areas of Sibolga City and Central Tapanuli Regency. The utilization of nodes is indicated through phases of identification and grouping into institutions and organizations dedicated to mangrove and coral reef preservation, as well as the purification of trust values among the coastal population.
